Synthesis of methyl caffeate using a packed bed microreactor
Methyl caffeate is an important intermediate,but its reaction time is long.To develop a rapid process for the production of methyl caffeate in short time,a microreactor was designed for the esterification of caffeic acid and methanol catalyzed by Novozym 435 in ”Bmim””Tf2N”.The maximum yield (97.91%) in the microreactor was achieved in a short period of time (2.5 h).The use of a enzyme microreactor is an efficient method of producing methyl caffeate.
