A rapid molecular diagnostic assay for identification of the threatened Camellia nitidssiam
Camellia nitidissima,are very famous ornamental plants and useful genetic resources for commercial value.This species is morphologically very similar to close relatives,and taxonomic identification is difficult.Here we present a rapid SNP based dCAPS (derived cleaved amplified polymorphic sequence) marker system for the effective identification of this species based on GBSSI sequence variation.The developed protocol would be valuable resources for species authentication and conservation management.
