Isolation of the Fluazifop-P-butyl (FpB)-degrading bacterium Aquamicrobium sp.FPB-1,and cloning of a novel gene fpbH coding FpB-hydrolying enzyme.
An enrichment culture which completely degraded Fluazifop-P-butyl (FpB) was acquired by using FpB as sole carbon source. An efficient FpB-degrading strain FPB-1 was isolated from the enrichment culture and identified as Aquamicrobium sp.Strain FPB-1 could degrade 96.6% of 100 mg l-1 FpB within 4d and the metabolite Fluazifop-P acid (FpA) was identified by HPLC/MS analysis. This strain converted FpB by cleavage of the ester bond, but could not further degrade FpA.
