Study on Reaction Cladding TiCp-(Fe,Cr)7C3 Hadifield Steel Matrix Surface Reinforced Composites Prepared by Vacuum Evaporative Pattern Casting

  TiCp-(Fe,Cr)7C3 Hadifield Steel Matrix Surface Reinforced Composites were prepared with the mechanism of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) by vacuum evaporative pattern casting (V-EPC) method.The mechanical properties and microstructure of the composites were investigated by a series of experiment.The results show that on the surface of composites there are only TiC and (Fe,Cr)7C3 two phases.With the increase of Cr,the distribution of TiC turns to uniformity,and the size of TiC particle decreases with the increase of Cr.The hardness of the composites surface increases first and then decreases with the increase of Cr.The hardness will reach the peak with HRC62 when the content of Cr is 15wt%.
