Comparative Evaluation of Lubricants for PM Structural Steel
In making sintered steel components,lubricant plays one of the most critical roles as it determines apparent density,flow rate,fillability,achievable green density,green strength and surface cleanness after sintering and etc.The achievable green density depends on not only compaction pressure but also the amount of added lubricant and die temperature.The less added,the higher the density can be achieved.However,unless otherwise the lubricant has good lubricity,it may cause trouble during ejection.Therefore,the relationship among lubricant,ejection properties and die temperature were investigated deeply.Surface cleanness after sintering depends on the type of lubricants;even it also depends on size,density and shape of product.Those performances of various lubricants were evaluated and compared.Furthermore,the effect of graphite bonded mix with each lubricant was also studied
