Investigation of the preparation of TiAl-base high temperature alloys by Gelcasting process

In this research,the titanium powder and aluminum powder have been successfully mixed by ball milling,and then it has been dealt with low temperature presintering,gel-casting and high temperature sintering in protective atmosphere.We successfully prepared the TiAl alloy powder.And The effects of technological parameters,such as modified starch content,solid volume loading on the rheological behavior of ceramics slurry,density and strength of the green bodies was researched.The TiAl alloy powder mainly contains TiAl phase,and a small amount of Ti3Al phase existed.In the gelcasting,the fine range of solid loading is 54 vol%-58vol%.The sintering temperature of green body is 1480℃.The TiAl alloys” density ratio reached 96.8%.
