Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic.It is listed by the World Health Organisation”1” in its Model List of Essential Medicines,which are basic drugs required for any health-care system.Indeed,clinically ketamine possesses hypnotic,analgesic and amnesic effects.It is commonly used as induction and maintenance anaesthetic in surgery,especially in paediatric”2” and veterinary”3-4” surgery,with clearclinical guideline”5”.
