Effects of Aurantii Fructus Immaturus Flavonoid on the Contractility of Isolated Pyloric Circular Muscle Strips in Rats
INTRODUCTION Recently,Chinese drugs” therapeutical effect in gastrointestinal motility disorders such as functional dyspepsia has attactted the adequate attention from the pulic.Aurantii fructus immaturus (AFI),which is the dry fruit of Citrus aurantium L.and Citrus sinensis Osbeck,is a main Chinese herbal drug to treat gastrointestinal disorders.Previous studies had shown that AFI contributes to the treatment of functional dyspepsia.And flavonoid constituents in AFI were proved as the major effective constituents for stimulating the gastrointestinal movement.AFIF was proved to enhance the gastric erupting in rats with functional dyspepsia.However,its function has not been confirmed by experiments in vitro.While pylorus plays an important role as an independent unit of movement in gastric emptying process,we decided to explore the action of AFIF on isolated pyloric smooth muscle in rats.
