Fabrication, formation mechanisms and applications of self-organized core/shell composite powder in immiscible liquid system
Design and Fabrication In nature, there exists a considerable number of monotectic alloys with a liquid miscibility gap.Under the guidance of the calculation of phase diagrams method (see Figs.1),it was recently discovered the self-organized composite powders with core-shell (CS) and core-shell-corona (CSC) microstructures in Cu-Fe immiscible liquid alloys, which were previously obtained only in outer space, can be fabricated under gravity condition on earth using conventional gas atomization.
