Experimental research on water entry of a3-dimensional body
The complex hydrodynamics of 3-dimensional effect on water entry by a hydrophobic cylinder are investigated experimentally for low Froude number.The cylinder is released and enters water freely with an initial angle.High-speed digital video camera is used to study the spray, the cavity formation and collapsing, as well as the jet.Firstly, experimental methods are designed and summarized; then based on these methods the cavity dynamics of the cylinder is analyzed.
