Effect of thrombolytic therapy and percutaneous transluminal coronary intervention on the incidence of ventricular free wall rupture in patients with acute myocardial infarction:retrospective study
Background Ventricular free wall rupture (or free wall rupture, FWR) is a catastrophic mechanical complication of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) occurring in 0.9% to 4.5% of patients admitted to the hospital with AMI, and is responsible for 10% to 15% of all in-hospital deaths of patients with AMI.The aim of the study was to define the independent prognostic FWR risk factors of AMI in patients treated with thrombolytic therapy and percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
