Changes of cerebrospinal fluid pressure after thoracic endovascular aortic repair
Background Thoracic endovascular thoracic aortic repair (TEVAR) may be associated with spinal cord ischemia (SCI)and resulted in paralysis.Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) drainage, by decreasing the intracmnial pressure, has been advocated as one of the major protective strategies to prevent SCI.We performed sequential cerebrospinal fluid pressure (CSFP)measurement and provisional CSF withdrawal after TEVAR, observed the changes of CSFP in high risk patients and in patients with new onset paraplegia and paraparesis.
