Remedial hydration reduces the incidence of contrast-induced nephropathy and short-term clinical events in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Background Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is associated with increased morbidity and mortality rates. This is especially important for patients of acute myocardial infarction (AMI) where the incidence of CIN has been shown to be higher. In particular, little clinical trial has yet focused on the effect of remedial hydration on AMI patient”s undergoing primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).
