High percentage of atrial pacing induced incremental ventricular pacing in patients with sick sinus syndrome after dual chamber pacemaker implantation
Background Detrimental effects of ventricular desynchronization due to long term right ventricular pacing (VP) were well acknowledged.Little study was focused on the unfavorable aspects of increased right atrial pacing (AP).The purpose of this randomized, self-controlled, cross-over study was to test the hypothesis that percentage of AP (%AP) is positively correlated with percentage of VP (%VP) in patients with sick sinus syndrome and intact atria-ventrieular (AV)conduction.
