Difference of VEGF expression in Chinese pig models with acute and chronic myocardial ischemia

Background Nowadays the therapy of severe myocardial ischemia such as diffused coronary artery lesions and chronic total occlusion remained to be a fortress despite of rapid advances in intervention therapy and neovascularization appeared to provide a possibility improve the perfusion and prognosis.In this article, we would evaluate the establishment of collateral vessels in Chinese pig models with acute and chronic myocardial ischemia and discuss the relationship between collateral circulation and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF).
