Clinical follow-up after fractional flow reserve-guided drug treatment of an intermediate coronary stenosis

Background It is difficult to make a decision regarding revascularization of an intermediate stenosis based on coronary angiographic.Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is an invasive index used to identify a stenosis responsible for reversible ischemia, and using FFR to guide PCI has demonstrated both safety and efficacy with regard to cardiac events. Methods Prospective clinical data were collected on consecutive 15 patients of an intermediate stenosis diagnosed by coronary angiography in our cardiac central.FFR was measured on intermediate lesions, and revascularization was deferred on a measurement ≥0.8 and then treated with drugs.Clinical outcomes of interest included cardiac death, acute myocardial infarction, clinical angina status, late revascularization of the index lesion and bleeding. The mean length of follow-up was (23.6±5.67) months (range, 14-30 months).
