Acute coronary syndrome patients received statin treatment with lower LDL cholesterol level and their baseline hs-CRP level
Background Explore the prognosis of the patients who have acute coronary syndrome undergoing PCI, with lower level of LDL cholesterol due to atorvastatin treatment and their baseline high sensitivity C-reactive protein level. Methods We screened the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University percutaneous coronary intervention follow-up database and meet the following conditions are enrolled in this study.(1) The patients who diagnosed as ACS and underwent PCI treatment in this hospital from January 2008 to June 2011; (2) Continuous oral atorvastatin 10 rmg-20mg/L year.(3) the follow up time of (365±30) days.We enrolled 647 patients in this study and divided into high hs-CRP group (H group, hs-CRP >3 mg/d) and normal hs-CRP group (L group, hs-CRP <3 mg/d), comparing the incidence of the serious adverse cardiovascular event (MACE, cardiogenic death, myocardial infarction, recurrent angina pectoris) in 1year follow-up after PCI treatment.
