Follow-up of short and intermediate term efficacy with transcatheter closure of patent ductus arteriosus using the homemade Amplatzer mushroom occluder in mdiddle-aged or geratic patients
Background To evaluate short and intermediate term efficacy and the safety of the transcatheter occlusion of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) using the homemade Amplatzer mushroom occluder in middle-aged or geratic patients.Methods A total of 32 cases (7 males, 25 females) aged from 40.0 to 64.0 years old (mean, (48.5±7.0) years) with PDA which were confirmed by clinical manifestation, electrocardiogram (ECG), X-ray fluoroscopy, transthoracic color Doppler echocardiography (TTE) from January 2007 through December 2011.All of them were received the transcatheter occlusion successfully.Afteroperation all eases received ECG, X-ray fluoroscopy and TTE after 48 hours, 1,3, 6, 12 months and interval of one year.The shortest follow-up time was 6 months and the longest was 4 years.
