Expression increase of transcription factors KLF4 in differentiated endothelial progenitor cells
Background The vascular endothelium is a vital organ whose health is essential to normal vascular physiology and whose dysfunction can be a critical factor in the pathogenesis of vascular disease.This present study was designed to investigate the expression and significane of transcription factors KLF4 in differentiated endothelial progenitor cells.Methods Mononuclear cells were obtained from Sprague-Dawley rats bone marrow and cultured, the secondary attached cells were characterized as adherent cells which were double positive for Dil-ac-LDL uptake and lectin binding by direct fluorescent staining demonstrated under a laser scanning confocal microscope.Flow cytometry (FACS)analysis was performed using antibodies against rat CD133 and CD34.The KLF4 and eNOS mRNA expression with RT-PCR methods are in differentiated endothelial progenitor cells.
