Effects of different stating on global DNA methylation of aorta in rats with hyperhomocysteinemia
Background The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of different stating on global DNA methylation of aorta in rats with hyperhomocysteinemia. Methods Forty-eight healthy 6-week-old wistar male rats, weighing (160-±10) g, after being fed adaptable for a week, were randomly divided into control group (CON; n=12), hyperhomocysteinemia group (HHcy; n=12) atorvastatin treatment group (AT; n=12) and rosuvastatin treatment group (RT; n=12).After be maintained for 24 weeks, the homocysteine and lipid concentrations in the plasma was measured with the IMX assays. The thoracic aorta was harvested for morphology (HE staining).Extraction aorta tissue global DNA and nuclear extracts, then measure the DNA methyltransferase activity and global DNA methylation levels.
