Invetigation on establishment of experimental model for cardiac resynchronization therapy via vein
Background The aim of the study is to investigate the establishment of experimental model for cardiac resynchronization therapy via vein. Methods In 6 anesthetized dogs, CRT systems were implantated via the jugular vein under general anesthesia. Results The success rate was 100%, with atrial lead dislocation and postoperative pocket effusion in 1 case.Pacing parameters was stable after four weeks monitoring. Conclusions Implantation of CRT system is feasible via vein, with low animal morbidity and mortality. The model will lay a foundation for further study of CRT in heart failure animal models.
