Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) affects about 8％ to 10％ in people aged ＞65 years and about 20％ in people aged ＞ 80 years, and is largely under-diagnosed and untreated.Current endovascular revascularization technologies rely on the angiographic guidance that can lead to inadvertent disruption of the arterial medial-adventitial border.Disruption of the medial-adventitial interface can promote inflammation and accelerate restenosis.
