Development of Beef Breeding Progress in Yanbian Yellow Cattle
In order to improve the beef performance of Yanbian Yellow Cattle, the blood of beef breed Limousin was introduced.Crossbreeding, reciprocal breeding and stabilized crossing methods were used.And large-scale parallel crossbred had come into being.The results showed that the crossbred had steady genetic performance.It was stronger, burlier and its body was longer than Yanbian Yellow Cattle.The crossbred looked better.The growth performance of the crossbred was significantly higher than Yanbian Yellow Cattle.The slaughter performance, feeding efficiency and beef performance were improved.According to statistics, there are 98800 crossbred cattle with 1/4Limousin blood ,in which the number of the breeding cows is up to 39520.The crossbreeding reach over four generations and the crossbred has the characteristics of beef cattle.
