The expression of the nm23 gene in the gonads and androgenic gland from the Macrobrachium rosenbergii

  Our research select the gene from the androgenic gland cDNA library that shares the high homology with the nm23.The sequence shown that the length of the prawn nm23 sequence is 776bp, and the nm23 cDNA contains a contains a 5”untranslated region of 40 bases, an open reading frame of 177codons, and a 3”untranslated region of 197bases.Comparing the nm23 protein sequence with nm23amino acid sequence of another spices reported previously in the Genbank database.The result shows that the gene we found is high homolous with another spices.The deduced amino acid sequence of this protein shares 92% identity with the nm23 of the Litopenaeus vannamei.The nm23 transcript was detected in the various tissues, we found the nm23 expressed extensively.We can see the intensive signal in the androgenic gland cell.There is also intensive signal in the nucleus of the sperm.But there is no signal in the spermatogonia and the spermatocytes.So we can speculate the nm23 have an important role in the spermatogenesis.We can observe that the nm23 transcript labeling can be detected in cytoplasm of the early oocytes.But the nm23 transcript labeling can only be detected in the cytoplasm around the membrance and the nucleus of the late oocytes.At the same time the nm23 transcript labeling can be detected in the nucleus.So the nm23 gene display a decreasing expression profile during oogenesis.In addition we can speculate that the nm23 has connection with the maturation of the oocytes.
