Dual-Band RF Front-End for Hybrid GPS/Galileo/Beidou Receivers
This paper presents an integrated single channel dual-frequency radio frequency front-end designed for mass market applications. The front-end is able to receive Beidou B1-I,GPS L1 and Galileo E1 OS,simultaneously. The proposed low-IF architecture and frequency plan are in line with the mass market applications requirements which demand for compact, low power and low cost solutions. In fact,a complex direct conversion has been adopted to cope with the low power requirement while enabling image suppression in the base-band processor. In addition, the frond-end has been integrated on a cost-effective 0.18μm CMOS process, consumes 47 mW,and occupies 2.7 mm2.This paper will discuss the RF system level design of the receiver and the preliminary results of the first implementation.
