Vapor phase selective oxidation of 2-methylnaphalene to 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone on composite vanadium catalyst
The selective oxidation of 2-methyl-naphthlene (2-MN) to 2-methyl-1, 4-naphthoquinone (2-MNQ) can be carried out effectively in the presence of a composite vanadium catalyst.Using SiO2 as the carrier, the supported V2O5 catalysts were prepared by impregnation method. The catalysts were characterized by XRD, BET, SEM and so on.The catalyst activity was tested in a fixed-bed reactor, and the process conditions were optimized. The results showed that 2-methylnaphthalene conversion rate of 44.81% and 2-methyl-1,4-naphthoquinone yield of 25.04% were attained under the optimum condition as follows:reaction temperature 390 ℃, air flow rate 60 mL · min-1 and carrier gas flow 20 mL · min-1.
