Feasibility of surface electromyogram in development of tennis shoulder-pad

  Tennis is a kind of sport event demanding high technology and physical quality of athletes.Shoulder is the most vulnerable part during fierce competition.Sports shoulder-pad can effectively support and protect shoulder muscles and joints,and thus prevent and reduce shoulder injury.Surface electromyogram(sEMG)is able to collect bioelectric signals released by shoulder muscles during tennis sports with the help of electrodes.Movement state of muscles in tennis game can be acquired by analyzing EMG amplitude,integrated EMG value,RMS value,duration,etc.,which can help to find out main power generation muscles and fatigue muscles in tennis game.Muscle distribution and direction of the main power generation muscles and fatigue muscles provide theoretical basis for designation of structures and functional areas of sports shoulder-pad.During functional assessment of shoulder-pad products,sEMG can provide intuitive body discharge signals to facilitate product optimization and improvement.Therefore,the introduction of surface electromyogram test in development and evaluation of tennis shoulder-pad is feasible.
