Research of low-speed impact damage failure process of basalt woven fabric composites based on HHT
In this paper, the low-speed impact damage failure process of basalt woven fabric composites was monitored by acoustic emission(AE).The collected non-stationary signal has been conducted by EMD decomposition and Hilbert transform, and combined with acoustic emission characteristics volume of the composite to explore the low velocity impact damage mechanism. Results show that with the application of HHT transform which is to analyze composite material damage occurred in the process of acoustic emission signal, the signal instantaneous physical quantities can be accurately obtained, basalt woven fabric composite material damage failure mode(including matrix cracking, interface stratification, fiber breakage)and the sequence can be identified.Besides, the respective characteristic frequency of its damage failure mode was 10kHz,10kHz,400~800Hz,50kHz.
