A Technique of Recovering Subsea Pipeline Buried in Silty-Sand
An innovative technique of recovering subsea pipeline buried in silty-sand seabed with only one common pipe-laying barge is induced out of engineering practices, named as Controlled Stepwise Recovering Method (CSRM).It works by means of controlled stepwise moving of barge and through local scouring on silty-sand seabed caused by tidal current, pulling one end of pipeline up to above water surface in the end.Technical model, basic mechanism and principle, key points to installation design and offshore operation control are described.Advantages of the technique are introduced, such as effects on improving quality and efficiency for repairing broken pipelines.A practical engineering case adopting this technique is presented in brief.
