The Advanced ADB System of the New Audi Q7
Modern Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB) systems are the sum of several sub systems integrated into the car”s electronical architecture.Important hardware building blocks are camera, body computer, LED drivers, LEDs and the optical system.At least as important as the hardware is the software of the total system.Software competence is essential for a car maker to create a powerful and safe system.Especially the integration of different software functions and the re-use of proven software blocks are future core competence of a car makers lighting and light electronics departments.This paper will describe the new Audi Q7”s ADB system.Examples of hardware and software sub functions and their impact to the light distribution and other road users will be given.
