Next Generation Standardized LED Light Sources for RCL
Driving the transition to LED in both the premium car segment with highly sophisticated LED RCL designs and the economic car segment where incandescent bulbs are still dominant is one of the key challenges of the automotive lighting industry.In this paper, regulated LED light sources as next generation light sources for RCL are introduced.Compared to conventional LED RCL systems based on a large quantity of non-replaceable LED sources;quality, complexity, total cost of ownership, global supply assurance, and time to market can be significantly reduced by utilizing few replaceable and regulated LED light sources.In contrast to low LED count assembled LED solutions and conventional incandescent bulbs, LED light sources still offer a rich portfolio of styling differentiation in an attractive, fast and cost effective way.
