The importance of the matrix is well appreciated.However, the in-depth understanding of the roles for extracellular matrix and nuclear matrix has just begun.Over the last ten years, we have been investigating how the mutant lamin A, an important component of nuclear matrix, leads to Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS), the most severe and early onset accelerated aging disorder in human.
