A New Approach to Define Regression Testing Process
Regression testing is an important but expensive activity performed during maintenance of evolving software.For a long time,researchers both at home and abroad have carried out extensive and in-depth researches on regression testing from a theoretical perspective.However,a large number of research results have rarely been applied into the real practice.In addition,attention and discussion is paid little to regression testing in the actual environment.In this paper,after analyzing the precious definition of regression testing,we have proposed a new approach to define regression testing process from an empirical viewpoint,aiming at building a bridge between theory and practice.Some researches based on the new approach are discussed and future work is given at the end.
