STO: A Semantic-driven Model for Integrating Steel Knowledge

  There are various of materials science data resources in steel domain,and most of these open data resources are available.However,these open data resources may reside in different web sites,literatures etc.Ontology can be used to integrate these heterogeneous data resources in semantic level.This paper constructs the steel ontology STO which is designed to integrate steel knowledge.STO covers common concepts and properties in steel domain,and axioms and rules are also designed.Furthermore,we discuss some key issues such as complicated knowledge representation and avoiding multiple inheritance in the design of STO.
