Pressure Pointing: Empirical Investigation into Human Performance to Control Pen Pressure
Whether the direction of pressure has an impact on the performance in pointing tasks was not contained in Fitts” Law.To investigate the effect of direction on pressure, four different direction rectangular menus with different distances and widths were designed to find out the performance in pointing tasks.Findings showed that targets” width, distances and pointing direction did affect human”s ability to control pressure.Experimental results showed that the whole pressure range of double target pressure pointing task is compliance with Fitts” law.Last, some implications were presented for pen pressure based interface design.
