Electrohydrodynamics Enhancement of Ethyl Acetate Natural Convection Heat Transfer
The experiment that electrohydrodynamics(EHD) enhance natural convection heat transfer of ethyl acetate along horizontal plate surface was performed.When an electric field is exerted on the fluid of heat transfer, the Nusselt number enhancement is correlated in terms of an electrical Rayleigh number to account for the effect of an electric field on natural convection.A new empirical correlation was presented for predicating the extent of EHD enhancement of natural convection from heated horizontal plate.This correlation is applicable over a range of electric Rayleigh Numbers from 6.3×103 to 6.9×106 and heat fluxes from 0.5kW/m2 to 7.0kW/m2.The error between the experimental data and calculated results is less than 15%.
