　　Petroleum reserves are in short supply of daily production nowadays;furthermore, combustion of fossil fuel is the main source of atmospheric pollution in the world.Based on the depletion of petroleum, biomass energy turns to be a type of important alternative energy in the future;and it is also significant for the environmental protection because of its low pollution.The paper is to present and discuss the progress of biomass pyrolysis technology and its development in China
