An Empirical Study on the Feasibility of a General Business-oriented Model for BE Curriculum Design
Since the official approval for the first Business English Major in 2006, there have already been 15 universities with BE Major so far.Whereas the education model, curriculum and course designs vary greatly in China, this paper aims to introduce and discuss the feasibility of a general Business-oriented model for BE curriculum design through analyzing the data collected from questionnaire researches on BE graduates in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 from Northeast Normal University according to ESP theories and needs analysis.The results of this empirical research support the feasibility of this model and the importance of matching up BE courses design with students” needs.It is hoped that this research can bring some insightful reference data as well as some suggestions to BE curriculum design study in the future.
