Tongue and Pulse in Modern TCM Stroke Research
This paper is focused on the role of biometrics as a quantitative method for Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis, pulse and tongue in particular, in research.fn order to explain the importance of pulse and tongue to TCM diagnosis, a brief historical and present overview was made.Additionally, a short review of recent achievements on stroke research, as one of the most researched fields in TCM, was carried out.The need for development of quantitative methods of research as well as some examples of recent progresses on tongue and pulse diagnostic tools were pointed out.Finally, a prospective of the role of tongue and pulse diagnosis and stroke research was made, as tools to rise TC M research standards.
