Relationship between five defensive enzyme activities of four Eucalyptus commercial clones and their resistance to the gall wasp, Leptocybe invasa, in South China

Activities of five defensive enzyme(Peroxidase,POD; Polyphenol Oxidase,PPO; Superoxide Dismutase,SOD; L-phenylalanin Ammo-nialyase,PAL; Catalase,CAT)in four Eucalyptus clones(DH201-2,DH32-29,U6,GL9)were tested.The activities of these five enzymes did not as increase with age.The activity of CAT was found to be higher in GL9 and to be lower in DH201-2,at all 3 ages examined.The activities of the other three enzymes had no obvious regularity.After being attacked,there were big increase of DH201-2 in activities of CAT,SOD and PPO,but there were decrease in activities of PAL and POD.
