A SCADA SOFTWARE FOR MANAGEMENT OF AN AUTOMATIC AGROCLIMATIC STATION BASED IN A cRIO
Irrigation water needs of crops are determined from data of Agroclimatic stations. In these stations the climate variables (temperature, relative air humidity, solar radiation and wind speed) are automatically registered with data acquisition devices (dataloggers).Nowadays, data collection from Agroclimatic stations is obtained by: i) manual methods, in this case, the staff has to move to zones out of the office where the data are processed or ii) by automatic methods, using a connection by GMS or GPRS systems in order to download the data.On this Communications a SCADA application in a cRIO is shown. This tool allows managing, by Internet and on real time, an Agroclimatic station. The implemented software in the cRIO is used to schedule the irrigation for horticultural crops.Additionally, this application provides to the station several features that improve the current ones. Moreover, this tool has a very competitive price. The adequate operation of the developed Agroclimatic station was validated. For this purpose the registered data from the Agroclimatic station were compared with the registered data of a nearest station of the Servicio de Informaci n Agraria de Murcia (SIAM) (Spain). This methodology was based on the used by Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
