DEPLOYMENT OF A WIRELESS SENSOR NET AS A HELP FOR IRRIGATION MANAGEMENT

During the last years, the use of wireless sensors nets (WSN) has been increasing in several technological fields. In general, sensors receive several types of signals in order to be processed. These signals are processed in a central computer that allows to manage and to activate a determined work.Specifically, the wireless sensors nets (WSN) are constituted by several autonomous devices, with small size and a very low consume, that allow a wireless communication.Sensors are connected among them by a net.Additionally, they are connected to a central system. This system compiles the collected data from every sensor.A high development of this kind of devices has been reached in the Industry and Medicine. However, in the Agricultural sector these devices have not been extended enough. In spite of these circumstances, the Agricultural sector constitutes one of the areas where is predicted a quickly deployment of this technology. On this work, the previous phase to the deployment of a specific WSN has been carried on.This WSN is designed for helping in irrigation management of horticultural crops in Murcia (Spain).
