Survey on the Nutritional Status in Students of Guangyuan Middle and Elementary Schools
To know the nutritional status among students in Guangyuan,to explore its major issues and influencing factors,so as to provide scientific basis for the the government on nutritional intervention of school students,a stratified cluster random sampling investigation was conducted among 1879 9-15 years old students from 7 primary schools and 8 high schools in Guangyuan.Daily diets of the students were surveyed and their weight,height and hemoglobin were measures to assess their nutritional status.The prevalence rates of undernutrition and underweight were respective 2.3% and 41.1% respectively.The prevalence rates of overweight and obesity were 5.4% and 8.5% respectively.Undernutrition and overnutrion exist simultaneously in the students investigated.Undernutrition is particularly prominent.There was a high anaemia rate among the students.The ratios of students who often drank milk,ate fish,ate bean products,ate animal innards 1-2 times a week were 60.2%,35.3%,23.9%,and 10.8% respectively.Nutritional status of students of Guangyuan isn”t satisfactory.Effective nutritional intervention on school students should be taken,such as improving the dietary pattern,strengthening the publicity of nutritional knowledge,developing the healthy dietary behavior.
