Clinical investigation of Bufeixiaoji decoction in the treatment of patients with advanced refractory non-small cell lung cancer

  Objective: To evaluate the curative effect and side-reactions of Bufeixiaoji decoction,a Chinese herbal drug in the treatment of patients with drugs-resistant advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).Methods: A total of 228 cases haven been failed by first-line chemotherapy which belonging to Qiyinliangxu and phlegm stasis symptom in TCM were randomly divided into control group (114 cases) and treatment group (114 cases) from Ruikang hospital affiliated to Guangxi university of Chinese medicine.Both of two groups were with second-line chemotherapy,four weeks for a cycle,two cycles continuous treatment group were given additional Bufei Xiaoji decoction on this basis,fou r weeks for a cycle,two cycles continuous.Results:197 patients receive clinical efficacy (100 cases in the treatment group,the rest in the control group).The objective of the treatment group efficiency,the TCM symptom improvement rate,CEA and CYFRA21-1 levels de creased,II - Ⅳ degree WBC and HGB reduce,gastrointestinal reactions and kidney damage i ncidence than the control group (P <0.05); Ⅱ - Ⅳ degree of thrombocytopenia and liver da mage,no differences (P> 0.05).Conclusion: the feibuxiaoji decoction can raise the qualit y of life of the advanced resistant NSCLC patients,improve their clinical symptom,reduce serum CEA,CYFRA21-1 level,and enhance the clinical efficacy of chemotherapy and reduce chemotherapy toxicity,which suggests that feibuxiaoji decoction may have advantage in the reversal of lung tumor multidrug resistance.
