An Improved Q Factor Estimation Method for Micro-seismic Data
The attenuation problem of seismic wave has been considerably concerned in the past few years. And the Q factor,as main description of the attenuation property of media, has been estimated using different methods by many researchers related to various seismic data (Hackert et al.,2004).According to the theoretical and laboratory results,in the ordinary exploration field, the Q factoris a constant valuein the seismic wave frequency regime(Zhang et al.,2002).However,with the development of unconventional exploration, the frequency band of micro-seismic data is obviously higher than the ordinary seismic data and the sediment property is also changed due to the hydraulic fracturing. So the relationship between Q value and frequency do not follow the previous rule (Müller et al.,2010).In order to increase the precision of Q factor determination based on micro-seismic data,an improved calculation approach is proposed.Using this method and borehole micro-seismic data,a rough Q value model can be got during the hydraulic fracturing monitoring.
