The Relationships between University Students” Motives and Preferences for Teacher Authority
This study aims to examine the relationships between students” motives and their preferences for teacher authority.Two instruments,the preferred-version Teacher Authority Survey and the Approaches to Learning Questionnaire,were conducted to 252 university students in Taiwan.By means of exploratory factor analysis and correlation analysis,the gathered responses revealed that students” motives were associated with their preferences for teacher authority in classroom.Moreover,the regression analysis showed that students” motives and their preferences for teacher authority can significantly predict their academic self-efficacy.
