Functional malignant pheochromocytoma is rare tumor, liver metastatic pheochromocytoma is deemed to be incurable because of their poor prognosis.Surgical debulking of primary and removal of metastases tumors are recommended as well as radiosurgical or surgical. We remedied a patient with multiple liver metastasis of functional malignant pheochromocytoma after the adrenal primary lesion was resected 4 years later, the liver metastases was carried out surgical resection successfully.During the operation the blood pressure rised up quickly when the tumor had been hold between the fingers, the highest was 201/110 mmHg,and it quickly declined to normal when relieve the press. The patient is still alive more then 5 years by now after operation. Thus,we considered that functional liver metastases of malignant pheochromocytoma maybe cured by surgical resection, the monitoring of anesthesia and the blood pressure treatment should be adequate preparation. It should as far as possible to avoid the direct stimulation of the tumor in the operation.
