A study on the weeds prevention in old references
Abstract The purpose of this study is to suggest the value of the weeding and weeds prevention technology involved in old references of Chosun dynasty, and to develop application plans.The wisdom of weeds prevention involved in 12 kinds of old references, 「Imwongyeongjeji(林園經濟志)」,rSallimgyeongje(山林經濟)」,rGwanongsocho(課農小抄)」, 「Nonggajipseong(農家集成)」,Wibinmyeongnonggi(渭濱明農記)」 and so on.And we suggested 6application plans of the traditional technologies after analyzing.These were Success or failure factors of agriculture,5 insects of weeding, weeding, weeding time, weeding number of times, Hwanubeop(火耨法).This result”s summary are following as;The first, the weeding and weeds prevention is most important in agriculture.The second, It not make weeding in time, the harmful insect will scratche the grain.The third, It has emphasized in the old references that the practice weeding, weeding number, time, and how to weeding after missing the proper time.The fourth, weeding is to do early.The fifth, the cultivating measures has been developed to lessen the number of weeding.The sixth, this agricultural method was called Hwanubeop (火耨法), by which rices have cultivated after burning the weeds before seeding.We analyzed these by aspects of the historical value and agricultural wisdom.It is important that traditional weeding and weeds prevention technology complete at a proper time in old references.The technologies of weeding and weeds prevention that included in old references was very reasonable and surprising.And the development of traditional knowledge technologies can be done through the scientific verification process of modern science.
