Horticultural Fixture Efficiency as a Metric for LED and Traditional Horticulture Lights

　　Horitculture Lighting is shifting to LED lighting due to increased effiiciency and the promise of improved quality.The options for today’s indoor farmers include HPS,MH,Fluorescent and LED lighting.Measurements from each source type will be compared to LED options.An explanation of how light is the critical and limiting factor for indoor farming will be presented.Adding one percent of additional light in the spectral range of 400-700 nm (photosynthetic active radiation: PAR) can increase yield by one percent.
