Comparative study on the volatiles in Citrus Reticulata ”Dahongpao”peel from one plant in China

Objective: Citrus Reticulata ”Dahongpao” fruit peels were collected in three different time points from one plant growing in China. The peel oils extracted by hydrodistillation were investigated by GC-MS to study the variability of oil components and their contents. These three kinds of oils had the same qualitative outcome while had some differences in quantitation.A total of 43 compounds were identified in oils, which represented 89.727%, 90.105%, 92.42%, respectively. The main compounds in oils were limonene, γ-terpinene, and linalool accounting for 45.614-56.294%, 6.149-7.776%, and 4.425-11.944%, respectively. The chemotype of limonene/linalool was distinguished for these oils from C.Reticulata ”Dahongpao” peels.
